This year’s KC CAN! event was unforgettable — we all channeled our inner Forrest Gump and dove headfirst into a night of running, shrimp-eating, and “box of chocolates” surprises. If you missed it, here’s a fun recap that’ll make you feel like you were right there, cheering, laughing, and connecting with the community.
HR Rethought showed up in style with our own Forrest-inspired costumes! We had shrimp, ping pong champs, a Lieutenant Dan ice cream, and our fearless leader looking sweet as could be as a box of chocolates. The networking vibes were strong — we reconnected with familiar faces and met new ones, all united by KC CAN!’s mission:
KC CAN! is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to making grants and undertaking projects that improve the quality of life for Kansas City’s children, with a focus on basic needs, education, and wellness.
The event offered more than just networking — we enjoyed Forrest Gump-themed cocktails like the “Jenny,” danced to tunes spun by a world-class DJ, and took part in a silent and live auction that raised funds for KC CAN! initiatives throughout the next year. The generosity was palpable, reminding us that Kansas City’s community spirit truly runs deep!
Here’s to another year of making a difference for children in Kansas City!
