Sandra DeStigter – Founder/CEO

Sandra DeStigter is the dynamic force behind HR-Rethought, a forward-thinking consultancy dedicated to transforming human resources into a strategic powerhouse for businesses. With over a decade of experience in HR leadership, Sandra loves turning traditional HR processes into agile, people-centric solutions that drive business growth.

Her journey in HR began with a passion for helping organizations build cultures that not only attract top talent but also foster long-term employee engagement. Sandra’s innovative approach has earned her a reputation for being both a strategic thinker and a practical problem solver. She’s known for her ability to simplify complex HR challenges, making them manageable and actionable for companies of all sizes.

Her commitment to excellence and her genuine care for people are what make Sandra a trusted advisor to her team and clients.

 

Angie Colina – Executive Assistant

Angie is an accomplished professional with a strong background in non-profit executive leadership, now bringing her experience to the role of Executive Assistant. With a proven track record of strategic thinking, effective decision-making, and leadership, Angie has successfully led teams and managed complex projects in the non-profit world. As an Executive Assistant, she leverages her understanding of organizational operations and team dynamics to support senior leadership. Angie is dedicated to enhancing productivity and streamlining processes to ensure effective and efficient operations.

Angela Chavez

Angela has over fifteen years’ experience in Human Resources in multiple disciplines including Human Resources Operations, Employee Engagement, Employee Relations, and Development, Recruiting, Organizational Design, and Succession.  She believes building meaningful relationships with employees and leaders is a key component to a successful partnership with an organization.  As a Human Resources Sr Consultant, she enjoys learning about and partnering with a variety of businesses and identifying each of their unique needs.  Angela has a bachelor’s degree in business/economics and received her SHRM-CP certification in 2018.  Angela lives in Roeland Park with her two cats, enjoys time with her grand pups, gardening, exploring Kansas City, and dreaming up her next home project.  

 

Brooke Marshall

Brooke is a seasoned HR strategist who excels in developing and implementing comprehensive systems, processes, and teams to strategically enhance and expand organizations. Some of her favorite focuses are talent development, succession planning, culture/engagement, organizational design, change management, and systems and technology.  Brooke’s expertise extends to M&A strategy and integration within the private equity sector, where she has demonstrated leadership as an executive reporting to a Board of Directors.  Brooke brings a wealth of experience to support organizational growth at companies of all scales.  When she’s not fully immersed in the HR world, Brooke works on her golf game, takes long walks, is an avid reader, enjoys playing classical piano, and loves visiting museums and galleries to appreciate all things modern art.  

 

Diane Steen

With over 30 years of HR experience, Diane has expertly guided teams and organizations through every stage of the employee lifecycle. Her extensive expertise includes organizational design, talent acquisition, executive coaching, employee development, change management, and HR operations. Diane’s passion for HR began as an executive headhunter for an international agency, eventually expanding to encompass all facets of HR with some of the largest companies in Kansas City and around the globe. Starting her career in accounting, she has cultivated strong relationships as a true business partner, going beyond mere HR compliance. 

 

Sarah Meinershagen

Sarah Meinershagen is a seasoned Senior Human Resources professional with over 15 years of experience. She worked her way up from an HR Generalist to Vice President, joining a company when it had only 40 employees and contributing to its growth to over 350 by the time she left. Sarah excels in building HR functions from the ground up and driving strategic initiatives that align with business growth while fostering a positive workplace culture. By night she is a wife, parent and volunteer who is trying to raise her 3 teenage daughters to be good humans.  Sarah loves spending her “spare” time with family and friends, crocheting and listening to audiobooks and podcast while outside on her deck.  

 

Michelle Patterson

Michelle’s experience as a former business owner herself gives her a unique perspective on HR, enabling her to view it through the lens of business needs. She is not only a proven leader with a track record of driving organizational growth but also excels at building robust HR infrastructures in both business and non-profit sectors. Michelle is passionate about creating evaluation methods that support data-informed decision-making and engaging stakeholders at all levels. She thrives in employee coaching, change management, and solving complex challenges. At the core of her work, Michelle is dedicated to enhancing organizational culture and efficiency by developing your most valuable asset—your peopleOutside of work, Michelle enjoys time with her sons, attending theater, playing billiards, traveling, and exploring classic car shows.

Ashley Gardner – Director of Recruiting & Sales

Ashley is a seasoned talent acquisition/recruiting professional with a background in agency and corporate recruiting. With a diverse recruiting background, she leads a team that successfully recruits across nearly any industry, type of position, and skill level. She believes strongly recruiting is not a “one size fits all” and works with all involved parties to reflect on current or old practices and then strategizes and implements creative recruiting processes for companies, hiring managers, and candidates, ensuring a positive experience for all. When not recruiting, you will find Ashley exploring the outdoors with her son or leading groups on paranormal tours and investigations.   

 

Mallory Tesreau

Mallory started at HR-Rethought as the Recruiting Coordinator and quickly moved into a full time Recruiter position. She loves getting to work onsite along our clients and help them in any way possible! She is from STL, so is very grateful for her KC team welcoming in a Cardinal with open arms.  

 

Katie Gray

Katie brings over five years of recruiting experience to our team, with a background that spans multiple industries. She loves being a recruiter at HR-Rethought because it allows her to continually learn about different industries, understand various company cultures, and support individuals in achieving their career goals. Katie’s passion for building strong connections and relationships greatly contributes to her success.
